The Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) is a three-year diploma program aimed at preparing students to provide essential nursing care, maternal and child health services, and basic midwifery care in healthcare settings. The curriculum includes subjects like anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, community health nursing, and pediatric nursing, along with clinical training in hospitals and nursing labs.
The program emphasizes hands-on clinical practice, allowing students to acquire skills in patient care, emergency management, and post-operative nursing. Graduates of the GNM program are qualified to work as staff nurses, community health workers, and nursing assistants in hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, and maternity wards.
After completing the GNM course, graduates can also pursue higher studies like Post Basic BSc Nursing or BSc Nursing to advance their nursing careers and specialize in specific areas of healthcare.
