B.Sc. Optometry is a four-year undergraduate course (3 years academic + 1 year clinical internship) focused on the science of eye care and vision correction. The program prepares students to become professional optometrists skilled in examining the eyes, detecting vision defects, prescribing corrective lenses, and identifying eye diseases.
The curriculum covers subjects like ocular anatomy and physiology, optics, refraction, contact lens fitting, low vision aids, binocular vision, and clinical optometry. Practical training is provided in eye hospitals and vision care centers to ensure hands-on experience in patient care. After graduation, students can work in hospitals, private eye clinics, optical retail chains, or pursue higher education in optometry or vision science.
