The Bachelor of Science in Renal Dialysis Technology is a 3-year Allied Health Science undergraduate program designed to equip students with the knowledge and technical skills required to perform dialysis procedures for patients suffering from kidney failure or chronic renal conditions.
The course covers the fundamentals of human anatomy, kidney function, and nephrology, along with practical training in hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, dialysis machine handling, water treatment systems, and patient care before, during, and after the procedure. Students are also trained to monitor patient vitals, recognize dialysis complications, and respond to emergencies.
Graduates of this program can work as dialysis technologists or dialysis therapy assistants in hospitals, nephrology clinics, dialysis centers, and intensive care units, or pursue postgraduate studies in nephrology or allied health sciences.
