Campus Search is a free college search and counselling platform for students in South India. We help you find, compare, and apply to nursing, engineering, allied health, and management colleges in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka.

Is Campus Search free to use?

Yes. Our college search portal and counselling service are completely free for students. We are compensated by colleges when a student we refer successfully enrolls — a standard practice in education consultancy.

How does the free counselling work?

You fill our enquiry form with your NEET score, budget, preferred course, and city. Our counsellor calls or WhatsApps you within 24 hours to discuss options, shortlist colleges, and guide you through the admission process.

How many colleges does Campus Search work with?

NEET & Eligibility

Is NEET mandatory for BSc Nursing?

Yes. NEET is mandatory for BSc Nursing admissions across all states in India (Supreme Court ruling, 2020). Even private colleges require a valid NEET score. For GNM, NEET is also required in most states.

What is the minimum NEET score for BSc Nursing?

For government college merit seats, you typically need a NEET score of 130–150+ (General category). For private college management seats, a score of 90–120 is usually sufficient, depending on the college.

Can non-PCB students apply for nursing?

BSc Nursing requires 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB). Non-PCB students (Arts/Commerce) are not eligible for BSc Nursing. They can consider GNM in some states that allow non-PCB applicants, or allied health courses.

Is NEET required for allied health courses?

NEET is required for some allied health courses (like MLT, Radiology, BPT) in some states. Requirements vary. Contact us and we'll clarify the requirement for your specific course and state.

Fees & Costs

What is the average BSc Nursing fee in South India?

Government colleges: ₹15,000–₹35,000/year. Private colleges in Tamil Nadu (Nagercoil/Marthandam area): ₹50,000–₹90,000/year. Private colleges in Kerala: ₹70,000–₹1,20,000/year. Private colleges in Bangalore: ₹80,000–₹2,00,000/year.

Are there hidden costs beyond college fees?

Yes. Always calculate: fees + hostel (₹40,000–₹1,00,000/year) + food (if separate) + exam fees + caution deposit + transportation. Total 4-year cost can be 30–50% higher than just the published fees.

Can I pay fees in instalments?

Most private colleges allow semester-wise or yearly payment. Some offer staggered payment plans. Government colleges may have different policies. Discuss this directly during admission.

Are scholarships available for nursing students?

Yes. Central government scholarships (PM Scholarship, NSP), state government scholarships, and some college-specific grants are available. See our Scholarships page for details.

Hostel & Living

Do nursing colleges have hostels?

Most private nursing colleges have on-campus or nearby hostels. This is important for outstation students. Hostel fees range from ₹40,000–₹1,00,000/year including food. Always confirm hostel availability before admission.

Is hostel compulsory for nursing students?

For some colleges, especially those with strict clinical training schedules, hostel residence may be compulsory. This ensures students can attend early morning rounds and emergency duties.

Can students from other states study in Tamil Nadu or Karnataka?

Yes. Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka welcome students from all states. Many colleges have management quota and NRI quota seats specifically for out-of-state and NRI students.

Admissions Process

When does the 2026 admission process start?

NEET 2026 is typically held in May. State counselling registrations start in July. College reporting is in August–September. Management quota admissions continue until October–November.

What documents are needed for nursing admission?

NEET scorecard, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, transfer certificate, caste/community certificate, Aadhar card, passport photos, nativity certificate, and medical fitness certificate.

Can I change my college after joining?

Migration between colleges is possible but complex. It requires approval from the university (RGUHS/TNMGRMU/KUHS), the colleges involved, and sometimes the state regulatory authority. It is easier in the first year than later.

BSc Nursing graduates can work as staff nurses in hospitals, ICUs, OTs, and community health centres. Senior roles include nursing officer, clinical educator, and nursing superintendent. International jobs in UK, Gulf, USA, Canada, and Australia are very accessible.

Do colleges provide placement assistance?

Most private nursing colleges have placement cells with tie-ups to corporate hospitals (Apollo, Fortis, Aster, Manipal). Government and aided colleges rely on alumni networks and self-driven applications.

What is the salary for a nursing graduate in the Gulf?

Gulf (UAE, Saudi, Qatar, Oman) salaries for Indian nurses: AED 5,000–12,000/month (₹1.1L–₹2.7L/month), depending on experience and emirate. Housing and food are often provided by the employer.
